THE ANGEL BOOK TRUST

This charity was set up by William Kanaan to provide books to disadvantaged children.

William is passionate about reading and subscribes to the view that we must all make a contribution to ensure that education is made accessible to disadvantaged children.

The Trust is named in memory of his late paternal grandmother, Angelle (Latin for Angel). She was born, raised and lived most of her life in the beautiful Lebanese mountain village of Broumana. In the early-1900s, many children, but mostly girls, in rural villages were not sent to school or even given a proper education. Angelle was not taught to read or write as a child. Sadly, lack of proper education is still too common around the world.

The Trust aims to make a small contribution to tackling this problem by buying and donating books to schools, hospitals and children’s charities.
