Companies House guidance on protecting personal information for register of overseas entities
Companies House has published guidance on how to protect personal information on the register of overseas entities from the public.
Beneficial owners, managing officers and trust members have the option of applying to Companies House to protect their personal details, being their identity and/or home address from being published and disclosed on the register of overseas entities.
Such an application may only be made in circumstances where the applicant or anyone who lives with them is at risk of harm or intimidation should their information be made available to the public.
However, it is not possible to omit registering an address. The address removed from the register must be replaced with a different address. It is acceptable to use a new service address or a principal office address.
The process for protecting personal information involves completing an application form and submitting it, together with a fee of £100, to the Registrar of Companies.
